American-European Insurance Services relocated from Germany to Luxembourg on January 2, 1999 and in August 2002 incorporated as American-European Insurance Brokerage, a Luxembourg corporation. Subsequently corporate licenses were obtained from the insurance commissioners of the various US states so that in addition to Europe, brokerage could also be arranged in the United States.
After January 15, 2005, American-European Insurance Brokerage took advantage of the new European Insurance Mediation Directive in order to passport into all 27 EU member countries on a freedom of services basis. In March 2006 AEIB became the first non-Swiss insurance broker to be authorized by the Swiss Federal Office of Private Insurance to broker life insurance in Switzerland. American-European Insurance Brokerage now has over $3,000,000,000 of life insurance in force in Europe, with additional coverage in force in the United States. |
